1. Purpose
Wing Chun Kuen Academy is committed to using Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly, ethically and securely.
This policy explains how AI may be used within the academy's digital platform and how student information and academy knowledge are protected.
2. Our Approach
AI is intended to enhance learning, not replace it.
The academy uses AI to support students with revision, understanding and guided learning while preserving the role of qualified instructors and practical training.
3. Student Privacy
The academy does not provide unrestricted AI access to student information.
Where AI features are available, only the minimum authorised information required to answer a student's request may be used.
Personal information is handled in accordance with the academy's Privacy Policy.
4. Protection of Academy Knowledge
The academy's Knowledge Vault has been designed to protect the intellectual property of Wing Chun Kuen Academy.
AI systems are not permitted unrestricted access to the Knowledge Vault.
Knowledge remains protected through:
- Server-side permission checks
- Role-based access controls
- Visibility levels
- Student-safe content filtering
- AI permission controls
5. Student Access
Students may only receive AI assistance relating to learning materials they are authorised to access.
AI will not provide access to:
- Instructor-only content
- Master Private content
- Restricted academy material
- Content outside a student's authorised syllabus level
6. AI Permissions
Knowledge Items within the academy may include AI-specific permissions.
By default:
- AI access is disabled.
- AI summaries are disabled.
- AI quotations are disabled.
AI functionality must be explicitly enabled by the academy before any authorised content may be used.
7. Instructor Material
Instructor-only and Master Private material is excluded from student-facing AI services.
These materials remain confidential and protected by the academy's access control system.
8. Accuracy
AI-generated responses are intended to support learning.
Students should understand that:
- AI responses may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect.
- Practical instruction always takes precedence.
- Instructor guidance is the definitive source of training.
9. Continuous Improvement
The academy continually reviews how AI is used to improve learning while protecting student privacy and academy intellectual property.
Future AI features will be introduced only where they support these principles.
10. Policy Updates
This policy may be updated as AI technologies and academy services evolve.
The latest version will always be available through the academy website or application.
